More About CCLM
Dr. Niedha Welch, LMFT, PsyD
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a PsyD in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have worked in the mental health field for over 13 years. Throughout my career I have enjoyed providing therapy services to and working with an extensive population that ranges from the adult drug and alcohol population, victims of abuse, incarcerated adults, and special needs children. Time in my career has also been spent providing support and services to children in group homes, residential treatment facilities and foster care that struggled with various disorders. I have also worked in the school district with students and parents.
I have taken on the role of a Clinical Director for an ABA company, a foster family agency, and an Afrocentric Rites of Passage program working with African American males youth. I continue to work with school districts and provide supervision, support and training for associate level mental health clinicians. I have enjoyed teaching Psychology courses at the community college level for over 4 years and have taught a foundational therapy course at the master’s level.
My passion has always been to help improve the lives of individuals and families but have focused much of my attention on the healthy emotional development and well-being of children and youth. To effectively work with children and youth, it is essential and necessary for the parents, families, communities to be involved. I believe in establishing and maintaining relationships and teaching others to do the same which helps others to get involved and active. My belief is that relationships and connections help foster the development of a village that can raise healthy children to be healthy adults and help those in need find solace and joy.
